GLOBAL TRAINING ON ISO/IEC JTC1 SUPPORT, OUTREACH, AND ENGAGEMENT
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND
June 15-19, 2026
ANSI hosted a week-long workshop for attendees from around the globe to learn more about the international standards system, existing and upcoming standards activities, and how to promote standards development at the national and international level. This workshop helped attendees increase their knowledge of and capacity in AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity as well as included visits to ISO central secretariat offices and HP Inc. Geneva office.
This workshop is part of the Standards Alliance Phase 2 (SA2) program, another cooperative agreement between ANSI and the U.S. Department of State. For more information, please visit the website.

EAST ASIA AND THE PACIFIC AI BROAD-BASED TRAINING
SINGAPORE
April 15-17, 2026
This three-day training workshop helped participants develop necessary skills and deepen their understanding of local, regional, and international standards development processes. Additionally, participants were introduced to the current state of artificial intelligence standardization within the ASEAN context and across the globe, and learn about how to effectively engage with ongoing international standardization efforts in this critical technology.
The event was split into three thematic sessions.
- Day 1 focused on standardization basics and the best practices for local efforts.
- Day 2 reviewed the international standards system, regional activities, and discuss the intricacies of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42.
- Day 3 provided more in-depth discussions on AI and enabled participants to transform the lessons learned in the workshop to support their countries’ participation in international standards activities.
INTERNATIONAL AI STANDARDIZATION FOR ARGENTINA WORKSHOP

LATIN AMERICA AND AI ADVANCED CAPACITY TRAINING
SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

This two-day training workshop helped participants build upon skills gained during the previous Latin America Broad-Based Training which occurred in September 2025 in Panama. Participants received a more in-depth technical review of current and upcoming AI standardization efforts and work to further refine their action plans.
